Gracie's awesome catapult!

Last week on Tuseday & Thursday Rm5 made our own catapult with a buddie. My buddie was Tavie. We made ours out of popsical sticks, rubber bands, a bottle cap & hot glue. When we finished our catapults we went out side to test them with mashmallows. We counted all counted down from 3, 2, 1 fire! Mine and Tavies mashmallow got two metres. We felt so proud of ourselves.

Fruit & Vege Novelty!

On Saturday 23rd and  Sunday 24th the A & P show was on. I went on Sunday with Jemma. We went in the hall with all the  fruit,  veges, biscuits and flowers to see if I won some thing. Well surprisingly I did! 

I came sixth in the fruit and veges novelty! Sadly Jemma didn't win a prize. Did I tell you what I made and last year I won a prize as well, no so I made a penguin and I came 5th for my biscuit last year to.

BYOD argument!

Rm5 has been working on arguments. This is my argument on (BYOD) at school. I hope you like it!

Dear Board of Trustees,

I believe Nelson Central School shouldn’t have bring your own device (BYOD) to school. BYOD is when children bring devices such as IPADs, Tablets, Laptops and IPOD touches. They connect to them to the school wireless and use their own devices for learning.

I believe that IPADs cost a lot of money and $800x2 IPADs will cost $1600. For my family it’ll cost $3200 because we have four family members in our family.

Secondly I believe BYOD at NCS isn’t a good idea because kids loose hats and clothes so why should we ever have devices at school. Losing the devices will cost a lot of money to repay, unless the school has insurance on the devices. Otherwise it’s a lot of money!

Lastly, say if device and one of your other friends didn’t have a device would you share your device I know I would because I’m a caring person. But if someone else had a device and wanted to use mine I wouldn’t let them use it because they already have a device. Some people might find it unfair that they don’t have a device and you do.

In conclusion I believe we shouldn’t have BYOD at NCS because it will make kids avoid the playground, sand pit, ball wall and playing

foursquare. I hope you don’t agree to BYOD for NCS.

SWIMMING SPORTS

Last week the whole syndicate had swimming sports. There were 13 events that you could race in. I did freestyle length so did Paige , Jemma & Charlotte. My mum came to the events and took photos of me and my friends. At the end there were relays . Jasper , Paige , Jack ,Jemma ,Theo & I did the relays. It Was AWESOME as.
